Field of Dreams
Wedding Styling
This concept feels almost magical with an adventurous free-spirit and an air of ethereal elegance. Encapsulating the beauty of nature, when leaves are fallen, the land is weathered and florals take on those muddy hues. Autumn is one of my all time favourite times of the year for creating unique wedding styling concepts, it’s great to be a wedding planner at this time of year as we are spoilt for choice when it comes to inspiration.
Autumn Wedding Styling
Choose raw, rugged and naturally breathtaking surroundings to create the perfect backdrop to this enchanting celebration. A rustic countryside estate, like Wilderness Reserve or Soho Farmhouse, would be perfect.
A soft and muted colour palette brings this vision to life, think desaturated tones of almond, bisque, cafe au lait, camel, redwood, raw umber and cognac. You want to choose decor items and colours that gently blend into the surroundings and feel harmonious together.
Natural hemp linens with slightly frayed edges, draped over long banquet tables filled with flickering candlelight from hand-dipped taper candles. Layered textures create a really rich feel and draw the eye to their intricate detailing. Like gently patterned crockery, smoked gilt-rimmed glassware and bronzed cutlery. A riot of autumnal florals in intricate shapes and textures, overflow from aged urns and nestle amongst the candlelight for a really lush feel.
Handmade paper, with delicate dried flowers encapsulated within, hold verses of prose in elegant calligraphy along with each guests name. Making the place cards a lovely keepsake for guests.
The feast has a wild rustic quality to it, with a hearty menu to celebrate the flavours of the season, featuring elements such as truffle, pumpkin, butternut squash, fig and walnut. A smokey old-fashioned cocktail being the perfect start to proceedings.
Raw umber tinted diaphanous silk dresses for the bridesmaids, with loose flowing locks. Whilst our bride plays to the natural vibe with an exquisite bespoke gown by Hermione de Paula to celebrate the flora and fauna of the landscape. She completes her look with a headband of golden leaves and large flowers, the Rowena Circlet by Jennifer Behr, slipping her feet into the Ivana sandals by Harriet Wilde.
